I thought maybe Harry being an asshole and then apologizing (because it’s always the other way around and I’m kinda tired of it)

The Chair by ile_o

yeah it’s true, everyone usually writes draco being a brat and having tantrums and throwing around hurtful things, (and i love that) but harry can be a brat too.

i hate it when people say ‘no harry lost that part of him when he lost voldemorts horcrux inside him!’ NO I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT OKAY harry has tantrums too and can still speak parseltongue shut up

thats why i love ‘on a clear day’ because harry acts like a huge child, and draco reacts like AN EVEN HUGER CHILD, AND ALL OF THE MEN ACTING LIKE BRATS I LOVE IT.

Adult-Draco being a bratty as he is sometimes written to be is OOC, at least according to their relationship dynamics that I made up in my brain. Because I imagine him being more avoidant and passive-aggressive than inclined to actual temper tantrums.  When he and Harry fight, he shuts down emotionally and withdraws inside. This frustrates Harry, who gets increasingly agitated. Since we know Harry can be a total dick and doesn’t think before he speaks, what he wants is a reaction and then he goes and says something that clearly crosses a line.

AND THEN IT IS HURT/COMFORT AND/OR FLANGST TIME AND I AM LOVING IT.

Although, I don’t mind super cracky fics where Draco throws epic tantrums because someone has accused him of being a bottle blond. If its done with humor, a Draco-blow up can be fun to watch.

BUT THIS FANART THOUGH. LOOK AT IT. GAH.

OH yeah i see what you mean, yeah. when i say tantrums i mean like, remember in foundations (was it?) where draco had that room just to smash things?? i mean like that, i don’t mean stamping his feet or anything, (that’s more suited to a young babby spoilt draco)
i read a lot of teenage draco and i love my teenage draco being really really brattish and over the top, but as he gets older i can see him withdrawing that and calming it down a lot
i can easily imagine draco being extremely passive-aggressive. because of his upbringing i can see things being done that way

“This frustrates Harry, who gets increasingly agitated. Since we know Harry can be a total dick and doesn’t think before he speaks, what he wants is a reaction and then he goes and says something that clearly crosses a line.”

oh yes perfect. the bit in ‘on a clear day’ where harry storms off to do something, and dracos looking at his cupboard door to fix it because it squeaks, and harry comes back and says something like ‘you’re good with cupboards aren’t you’

omg the most hurtful harry

and don’t get me started on ile-os perfect perfect drarry art. i think she’s honestly the best, not only in how she draws them, but how they interact in her pictures and such it’s the most lovely.
